Overview

The ER Dental Group (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’) is a leading dental service provider in the Bay of Plenty, comprising ER Dental Pyes Pa, ER Dental Omokoroa and ER Dental Tauranga. We employ experienced dentists and dental hygienists, and we have invested in state-of-the-art dental equipment. We aim to provide efficient and high-quality dental services in the most professional manner possible. Please read our terms and conditions below.

  1. All our cost estimates for any type of dental treatments are inclusive of GST (at the current rate of 15%) and valid for a period of 30 days from the date of being provided to you.
  2. Cost estimates can vary due to unexpected events or unforeseen dental conditions during the course of the treatment. Your dentist will advise you of changes to the dental treatment plan along with full costs before proceeding to the next stage.
  3. We currently accept payments for dental services in the form of cash, EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay, Q card and Afterpay. 
  4. We may offer more options in the future. Please enquire with your dentist or the receptionist at our dental surgery.
  5. Depending on the nature of your dental treatment, we reserve the right to request a full advance payment or a deposit, after which your dental treatment will commence. If no advance payment is requested prior to the treatment, all our dental services are to be paid for immediately following the appointment.
  6. Any cancellations made within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment or failure to attend your scheduled appointment will incur a minimum late cancellation fee of $50. Depending on the treatment and time commitment requested from your dentist or your dental hygienist, the late cancellation fee can be higher, but not exceeding $250 for a single dental appointment.
  7. Your rights as a health care consumer are covered by the Health and Disability Consumers’ Rights. All ER Dental surgeries fully support and comply with these rights. If you have any concerns related to the scope of the treatment or costs, please contact us immediately for clarification.
  8. If you think you will not be able to honour your financial commitments towards your treatment, please discuss this with your dentist or dental hygienist prior to the commencement of your treatment. They will advise you accordingly.
  9. All ER Dental surgeries can provide you with a Work and income New Zealand (WINZ) quote for your treatment, subject to eligibility and inclusive of any and all consultation fees. If WINZ declines your claim, the onus of full payment lies on you. Please advise at reception desk that you require a WINZ quote on your arrival. The initial consultation will incur a $50 upfront payment, which you can claim back from WINZ. View the Subsidised Treatments on our Finance Page for more information.
  10. We reserve the right to apply an administration fee of $25 for any balance outstanding after 15 days of treatment. For balances outstanding for more than 30 days, we reserve the right to apply a $50 late payment fee, in addition to the administration fee of $25.
  11. If you have not met your payment commitment for more than 45 days, we reserve the right to use the services of a debt collection agency or adopt any other legal mechanism to obtain our payments. You are advised that such actions from our end might adversely affect your credit rating in future.
  12. Any costs incurred to recover outstanding payments will be fully invoiced to you.
  13. You give us an irrevocable and non-exclusive right to collect, retain, share and use your information for the purpose of assessing your creditworthiness or for obtaining payments from you, against money you owe us. You also give your dentist or your dental hygienist an irrevocable and non-exclusive right to obtain information about you from other private or government agencies in relation to your dental treatment.
  14. We reserve the right to stop your dental treatment or not deliver customised dental goods like dental crowns, bridges, dentures, mouth guards, aligners, veneers or teeth whitening trays, where payments are outstanding. Any dental treatment stopped by us will not affect our right to collect any outstanding payment from you.
  15. We are bound by and will adhere to the Consumer Guarantees Act, 1993.
  16. You are not entitled to any credit or refund if any dental treatment fails due to your negligence or due to clinical risks explained to you in advance, to which you have given your complete consent.
  17. In the event of any variation of our terms of trade, we will update it on our website at and also display the variations in the reception area of our surgeries. Proceeding with treatment amounts to agreeing with our varied terms of trade.

Warranties for crowns, bridges and implants
We pride ourselves on offering durable, quality workmanship. Therefore, we guarantee our work when you need restorative dentistry.

At ER Dental you get a three-year warranty against fracture or defective workmanship when we fit you with a CEREC crown or bridge. The same applies to crowns placed on implants. This warranty is subject to you taking good care of your restoration and attending a yearly exam with X-rays.

We cannot guarantee the health of the tooth structure underneath your restoration. However, we do our best before treatment to ensure that we place our CEREC restorations on sound tooth, i.e. making sure that your natural tooth is stable, functional, and free from decay or advanced gum disease.

Please also note that we cannot guarantee large fillings. Some patients wish to have large, broken fillings replaced with even larger ones even though we advise against this option. Fillings are made from resin. In most cases problems with large fillings do not arise because of the material or workmanship – it is the weak tooth around the filling that breaks.
